fotocop-ia-s is a photographic series that doesn't limit itself to using artificial intelligence as a production tool, but rather adopts it as a means of visual research and exploration. The work delves into the mechanisms of copying—not as simple reproduction, but as transformation—evoking analog processes such as photocopying, where each duplicate loses definition but simultaneously acquires new textures, errors, deviations, and potential.

Through generative AI systems, this series works not with light as a traditional photographic substance, but with data: data projected as a new, elusive, abstract light, capable of revealing minuscule variations and displacements impossible to capture with the human eye. Each image thus becomes another layer within a visual palimpsest, where accumulation and distortion construct a narrative that oscillates between the visible and the imperceptible. Behind each gaze generated by AI lies a constellation of invisible gazes: superimpositions of non-human eyes that observe us from the imperceptible. The series' curation does not seek to establish meaning, but rather to amplify these subtle transformations, highlighting how the deviations of each copy open up new possibilities for seeing. fotocop-ia-s is, ultimately, an archaeology of the artificial: a poetic exploration of error, repetition, and residue as forms of knowledge.
